The general rules and guidelines of FIFA Laws of the Game and US Youth Soccer shall be followed except when the NSA (Northmont Soccer Association) rules of competition differ. NSA rules shall take precedence.

US Soccer mandates using birth year to determine team formation and grouping. Rec soccer uses two-year even number groupings based on players under a designated age for that calendar year.
